Walcha Coffee wins Golden Bean Awards

WALCHA, New South Wales, Australia – Surrounded by spectacular national parks threaded with wild rivers and tumbling waterfalls, Walcha is renowned for its natural beauty. The oldest colonial settlement in the New England region, the small town also has a rich history, vibrant arts community, and plenty of country charm.

Fuelled by local resident Cameron Hayton’s love for exceptional coffee, Walcha Coffee emerged as more than a local brew; it’s a symbol of community pride and a testament to the artistry of coffee craftsmanship.

Established in 2020, Walcha Coffee has quickly grown from a small-town venture into a cherished cornerstone of its community. Its journey began with an unwavering dedication to quality. From sourcing the finest speciality-grade coffee beans to meticulous roasting, we deliver coffee that makes a cup that embodies the essence of a town.

“Evolving into an iconic local brand, Walcha Coffee’s commitment to quality is not just a tagline; it’s a promise upheld by our skilled roasters” says the company. “Recently, this commitment received international acclaim with prestigious Silver and Bronze medals from the Australasian Golden Bean Awards. Walcha Coffee’s success isn’t just about providing the coffee to brew the perfect cup; it’s about fostering pride and unity within our community.”

“These awards mean the world to us at Walcha Coffee. Winning medals in the Golden Bean competition for the second year running is a testament to the hard work and passion poured into every batch” said Cameron Hayton, Owner of Walcha Coffee Pty Ltd.

“It’s not just about the medals; it’s about the pride we take in crafting exceptional coffee. This recognition motivates our team to continue pushing boundaries and sharing the best of Walcha with coffee lovers everywhere.”

Future Plans for Walcha Coffee

“Winning awards like this really puts Walcha Coffee on the international stage. To win these medals—especially silvers—against some of the greatest roasters in the global industry is a huge feat for a small-town company like ours.” The silver medals qualify Walcha Coffee to compete in the World Series roasting alongside global coffee brands and companies in North America, Europe, Asia, and Australia.
