20 Delicious Holiday Coffee Blends For 2023

Coffee holiday blends. Seasonal holiday coffees. Wonderful December coffee options. We love it all!

A much-loved traditional here at Sprudge, below you’ll find our annual compendium of delicious, delightful, de-lovely seasonal coffee blends. This year we featured an even 20, with something to offer for everyone. Happy sipping!

Joe Coffee “Rockefeller”

A perennial favorite—evoking city sidewalks, busy sidewalks, dressed in holiday style—this year’s Rockefeller hails from Antigua, Guatemala and boasts notes of sticky dates and sweet papaya. $1 from each bag of Rockefeller sold supports 9 Million Reasons, New York City’s largest food pantry.

Equator Coffees “Holiday Blend”

The 2023 edition of Equator’s annual holiday blend is, in a word, stunning. Sporting gorgeous original art by noted illustrator Michael Wertz, this bag unites washed and natural processed coffees from the CODECH cooperative in Guatemala, Flor de Dalia, and rightly famous Suke Quto from Ethiopian producer Tesfaye Bekele.

Olympia Coffee Roasting Company “Holiday Blend”

Festive. Invigorating. Warming. This year’s Holiday Blend from Olympia Coffee does all that and more, backed up by flavor notes of citrus, maple, and pine. It’s a cozy Christmas tableau in a cup, from the tree to the roaring fire.

Partners Coffee “Miracle On North 6th Street”

A perennial favorite, this year’s “Miracle” from Partners Coffee of Brooklyn doesn’t just taste good, it does good. Each ag purchased supports a farmgate initiative in Burundi in partnership with the Kahawatu Foundation. Inside you’ll find washed coffees from Burundi and Colombia, offering inspired flavors of mulled wine and merlot.

Stumptown Coffee “Evergreen

Here’s a little secret: we love Indonesian coffees here at Sprudge. How lovely then to see Stumptown’s Indonesia Bies Penantan featured prominently in this year’s Evergreen blend, alongside a charming Colombia Huayku. Look for notes of chocolate, citrus, and Tonka bean.

Verve Coffee Roasters “Holiday Blend”

Three coffees, three countries, one distinct blend evoking “warmth and whimsy”—Verve’s 2023 Holiday release has it all. Enjoy coffees from El Salvador, Ethiopia and Kenya with notes of pluot and honey wine, perfect for your holiday table.

Camber Coffee “Cambrrrr Winter Blend”

Sometimes the best way to make a coffee blend is to start with two absolutely fantastic individual coffees. Camber’s done just that with this year’s Cambrrrr Winter Blend (that’s four recurring uses of the letter “r”), which unites an Ethiopia Suke Quto with Guatemala Bella Elizabeth, resulting in a blend that’s sweet, round, and juicy—just right for the season.

PERC Coffee “Holiday Blend”

I can’t outdo PERC for holiday blend copy. And so, here is what they have to say about this year’s Holiday Blend, shared in full:

“The dreaded Frost Gobbler is here, chasing her favorite treat, gingerbread people. She’ll snatch the unlucky ginger folks up, tear them apart, and gobble them down with her terrible teeth. The last thing you’ll hear as she stomps out of town is her dreadful laugh, moohoohaha.

The roasting team has been in the workshop, tinkering away, mixing a little of this and a little of that. Now, the team has emerged with the perfect concoction. It’s smooth and sweet, with the perfect hint of roastiness to satisfy everyone in the family, even the grinchiest grinches and the scroogiest scrooges. Happy holidays y’all!”

Madcap Coffee “Winter Solstice”

Accessible, delicious, and non-denominational, this year’s Winter Solstice blend from Madcap is a velvety blend of Kenyan and Guatemalan coffees. Look for notes of cranberry, cocoa, and shortbread. This coffee also makes for a delicious espresso, so if you’ve got a machine at home, be sure to give Winter Solstice a whirl.

Night Swim Coffee “After Glow Half Caf”

Who says a half caf can’t also be really fun? For Night Swim’s seasonal After Glow Half Caf, the Charlotte roastery has combined two natural processed Ethiopias, Mensur Ahabika Natural and Halo Hartume EA Decaf, from Jimma and Yirgacheffe, respectively.

Sweet Bloom “Winter Bloom”

A 50/50 blend of Guatemala Augusto Castillo and Mexico Macario Garcia, Sweet Bloom’s Winter Bloom is a sweet, balanced crowd pleaser in a cup. Chocolately with a fuller body, Winter Bloom has notes of fig jam, toblerone, and a sweet toffee finish.

49th Parallel “Holiday Filter Blend”

Vancouver, BC’s 49th Parallel has combined two organic washed coffees for a balanced mix of chocolate and citrus. Medium roasted, the hot chocolate and roasted chestnuts come from the Mexico San Cristobal to pair with the mandarin orange and meyer lemon from the Peru.

Tweed Coffee Roasters “Cheer”

Why mess with a good thing? Dallas’s Tweed Coffee certainly isn’t. For a third year in a row, they’re not touching the components of their Cheer blend. 70% Toliman, Guatemala pairs with 30% Yirgacheffe, Ethiopia for a coffee that tastes like milk chocolate, toffee, and dried fruit.

Fritz Coffee “Christmas Blend (To Santa)”

Korea’s Fritz Coffee is back with another version of their Christmas Blend (To Santa). This year’s coffee is a mix of 45% India Kalledevarapura SLN795 and three different Costa Ricas: 25% Los Madrigales Caturra-Catuaí Honey, 20% Herbazu Centroamericano Honey, and 10% Corazon de Jesus Milenio Natural Reposado. It has notes of blackberries, blackcurrant jam, pomegranate, brown sugar, and cacao. And it even has the option of coming in Fritz’s Drip Bags.

Gringo Nordic Coffee Roasters “Swedish Christmas Blend”

Don’t fear the dark arts. Or medium dark at least. Sweden’s Gringo Coffee has created a rich and aromatic medium-dark roasted coffee for the holidays. It’s a blend of Kenya Nyakuru, Ethiopia Hafursa Yirgacheffe, Rwanda Nyamurinda, and Brazil Fazenda IP. And if you’re feeling spicy, they have a version of the same blend that includes freshly ground cardamom, sweet orange peel, and aromatic tonka beans.

Origin Coffee “Christmas Blend”

London’s Origin Coffee Roasters is leaning on a classic pairing of chocolate and citrus. Their Christmas blend brings a cup full of orange, chocolate, marzipan, and hazelnut thanks to the combination of washed and natural processed coffees from the Konga washing station in Ethiopia and Beto Santana in Brazil.

Brandywine Coffee “Happy Yeti”

Nothing like a nice crowd pleasing blend around the holidays. And as is their yearly tradition, Brandwine Coffee has put together just that. This year’s Happy Yeti includes coffees from Costa Rica La Rosa and Colombia, for sweet, warming flavors of chocolate covered marshmallow, maple syrup, and pizzelles.

Tandem Coffee Roasters “Jingle Beans Holiday Blend”

Mixing a fruity, natural processed Ethiopia with a floral washed Peru, Tandem’s annual blend is a “fruit cake in a cup.” Flavor notes include sugar plums, figgy pudding, and chestnuts roasting on an open fire.

Onyx Coffee Lab “Framily”

Ok but does every holiday coffee have to be a blend. Maybe you want to sneak a single origin in there and see if anyone notices. And Onyx Coffee Lab’s Framily is just such a SO in blend’s clothing. The medium roasted washed Ethiopian coffee from Banko Gotiti blends cocoa notes with berry cobbler-like flavors, ripe apricot, raisin, and even a little earl grey tea in there to keep things interesting. It works as well black as it does with cream and sugar. Or check out their Krampus if the fam needs something a little more developed.

Doma Coffee “Winter Wonderland”

Doma always goes all out on the design front, but the coffee is no supporting act. “Winter Wonderland” fuses coffees from Ethiopia and Mexico together for a charming blend redolent of cherry, baker’s spice, and nutmeg. Even better with a splash of cream!
